Every week Chess Stars club will organise two blitz tournaments for our members.

• Every Friday at 18:05 a Swiss tournament (6-7 rounds) for players under 2000 lichess elo.
• Every Saturday at 14:00 a Swiss tournament (7-11 rounds) for players under 18 years old and under 2000 lichess elo

A new chess star is rising! Damian Gatcan is the Champion of Luxembourg for 2020 in the category under 8 years old. Damian won the title after scoring 6 points in 7 games. He is the 1st champion of our chess club.

Great performance also from: Ioan Gicquel who took the 4th place in same category, Mihai Salomeia who finished 4th in the category under 12 and Vlad Onea who finished 5th in the same category.

Opposition and zugzwang are two of the most important elements of the pawn endgames. It is very important to study them in details and to learn and understand some basic positions.

Rule 2: Taking the opposition.

Elo Strength: 1200-1400 

The endgame is the closing part of the game when few pieces are left on the board. The pawn endgames with a king and a pawn versus a king is one of the most important and fundamental endgames.

Rule 1: King is on its 6th rank in front of the Pawn.
